I watched the video and still would like to learn a little more about Quantum… Quantum Services is specialized. We perform audits exclusively for the convenience store industry. Quantum Services was founded in 1971. For the first nine or ten years we were like most inventory services – we audited a wide variety of retail businesses from grocery stores to discount big box formats to convenience stores and more. In the early eighties, we recognized that the convenience store industry had unique needs for a higher level of accuracy and service. Quantum Services made a strategic decision to specialize in providing audit services exclusively to the convenience store industry. Today we audit about 6,000 convenience stores a month and have completed more than 1,500,000 audits. We have hundreds of convenience store clients and provide service to ten of the fifteen largest chains in the country. So what? How does Quantum’s specialization impact the employees? First of all, Quantum offers full time positions. We typically work Monday through Friday, although we sometimes are required to work on Saturday. The store manager is usually required to be present for audits so our work schedule is similar to what most store managers work – we usually start our first audit at six or seven am and complete our last audit between two and five pm. The nature of our business means that the schedule will vary a bit each day. Flexibility and adaptability are important. Second, because our clients require a high level of accuracy and professionalism, we hire only the best. Our employees tell us that our compensation and benefits are the best in the inventory / auditing business. We expect more from our people and take care of them. Our turnover is much lower than our competitors. Finally, because convenience stores are smaller than most retail outlets, many of our people work by themselves or on a team of two auditors. This means that each Quantum employee must be self directed and motivated. They must also be able to communicate well with our client’s store managers and supervisors.
